If you heard phrases like "bum marketing" or "article marketing on steroids", you probably have also heard that article marketing is one of the most and effective, long-term traffic source for your promotions.
As a affiliate marketer, you can start with article marketing at first, instead of trying out PPC (Pay Per Click) and other paid promotional advertising for selling your affiliate products.
What is Article marketing?
Simply put, you write an article and publish on article directories so that people who read your articles will come to your website or blog to see what you are into and offer them. This way you generate free website traffic to your affiliate products website.
If you have more contents in your website, people will may find your website/blog useful and will visit more often to read. They may even refer/recommend to their friends and other family persons about your website and this way will get you more visitors.
How to promote your article for making money?
To head start, write some at least 5 to 10 articles in your choice of niche. And make another 10 or 20 variations of the same main article so as to send them to article directories. This is avoid too much of duplicate submissions for the same content. An ideal variation of modified article would be different by at least 30% to 45% of the original article.
Submit them to authority article directories like ezine articles.com, go articles.com etc. Submission to 10 of them would be fine, but if you can submit to a minimum 20 of them, you can have good results. You can have a look into best names in this post.
Hint! There are hundreds of article directories on web. Submitting to all of them may not be of that much useful to you because most of them are not worth to publish. It is just a waste of time and your labor. Submitting to a handful of authority article directories will suffice.
Link your website URL or blog URL in the author's resource area so that people who read your articles, may click on the link to find about your affiliate offers or for more contents.
By this time you would have submitted your first few main articles. Start and repeat the process of writing some more articles and doing the same as you did before. This way you will be able to get some a good number of targeted visitors to your affiliate website.
